Flexi-disc Balloon Launch, RSD and festival date

Yesterday, Third Man Records premiered the as yet unreleased Blunderbuss album track “Freedom at 21” exclusively via 1000 flexi-disc records attached to blue helium balloons launched from the label headquarters in Nashville, TN. Accompanying the balloons were custom postcards with instructions for the finders to submit photos, discovery location and the date on which the record was found, all of which will be incorporated into a website where fans can access the information.

In honor of Record Store Day, this April 21st Third Man Records will release two different 12″ single versions of “Sixteen Saltines,” both backed with Jack’s cover of U2’s song “Love is Blindness.” The first features a George Ingram-designed playable etching of the iconic Third Man logo on its b-side. The grooves of the record play through the image, making it the world’s first-ever playable etched record. The second is a limited edition version only available at Third Man Records’ store front and features the playable etching pressed on clear vinyl and filled with a psychedelic blue liquid, the first-ever disc of its kind to be made available to the public. Jack is also pleased to announce that he’ll be headlining a day of the Firefly Music Festival in its inaugural year, located at the Woodlands of Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware on July 20-22 . Tickets go on sale this Thursday, April 5th at 12 pm ET.
